On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Montreal Protocol, the Ozone Cell of India has been selected to receive the Montreal Protocol Best Implementers Award. The Award Ceremony took place on Monday, 17 September 2007 at Montreal, Canada.

Shri Namo Narain Meena, Hon'ble Minister of State for Environment received the award from the President of the 19th Meeting of Parties (MOP) to the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the ozone layer.
